Zemfira will return to Kazakhstan for the first time in many years

Zemfira Ramazanova was already interested in music at preschool age. From the age of five, she studied piano at a music school, where she was accepted into the choir as a soloist. Then the singer made her television debut: she performed a solo on local television, a song about a worm, «Once upon a time there lived a worm». At the age of seven, she wrote her first song, the lyrics of which many years later formed the basis for one of the compositions of the performer's debut album, and at school, Zemfira became seriously interested in basketball, continuing to hone her vocal skills at a music school. She graduated from music school with honors, and in the early 1990s, she became the captain of the Russian women's junior basketball team, despite the fact that she was not very tall. Later, she would still choose rock.

Zemfira moved to Moscow from her native Ufa in the nineties, and it was then that the lead singer of the group "Mumiy Troll" Ilya Lagutenko was looking for new talents. He got his hands on a recording of the artist's voice, and Lagutenko immediately saw the performer's potential. The first album "Zemfira" was a huge success, brought the artist a lot of money and national love. Afterwards, the album “Forgive me, my love” was released, which also sold millions of copies, and Zemfira was called the most influential woman in Russia and the voice of a generation, because she really expressed the inner world of youth in her lyrics.

For Zemfira herself, the most important thing has always been the opportunity to create. It was creativity that became her main love and calling, therefore, even having moved from Russia to France, the artist is doing what she loves. She is friends with and writes music for Renata Litvinova’s performances, collaborates with her nephew, with whom she recorded her last album in 2024, “Zemfira from Luka”. There are again songs about loneliness, about how people are forced to part in the modern world, separated not so much by distances as by beliefs. As always, the songs are based on the performer’s personal experience, and the listener can interpret Zemfira’s images and lines based on their own experience and emotions.
